Ait Ben Haddou day trip: Tour itinerary
Our driver will come to pick you up from riad/hotel at 7:30am, and then drive to Ait Ben Haddou through the High Atlas mountains.
Ksar of Ait Ben Haddou is one of the most spectacular sights along Morocco’s Valley of the Kasbahs. Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, it is located in the Ouarzazate province along the historic caravan trade route between Marrakech and the Sahara Desert.
This fortified city, known as a ksar, consists of six kasbahs and nearly 50 smaller ksour. It has served as the backdrop for several Hollywood films, including Gladiator and Lawrence of Arabia, and stands as a remarkable example of South Moroccan architecture.
Nearby, Kasbah Telouet is another extraordinary sight in the Atlas Mountains. With its crumbling walls and intricate mosaics, this kasbah was built in the 1800s by the powerful Glaoui family and thrived due to its strategic location on the trans-Saharan trade route.
The city of Ouarzazate, known as the “Hollywood of Morocco,” is just 30 km from Ait Ben Haddou. This peaceful city is home to the impressive Kasbah of Taourirt, a stronghold showcasing traditional Berber architecture.
During the journey, we’ll stop to take photos of the breathtaking High Atlas Mountains, including the dramatic Tizi-n-Tichka Pass at an altitude of 2,260 meters.
After enjoying lunch at either Ait Ben Haddou or Ouarzazate, we’ll return to Marrakech, completing this unforgettable experience.
Ait Ben Haddou day trip will end in Marrakech around 6Pm depends of many stops you did.
