This short Marrakesh desert trip to Zagora 2 days & 1 night is perfect for those who are short on time travelling Morocco, and wish to seize the opportunity to get introduced to Zagora desert in 2 days from Marrakech, including 1 hour camel ride for sunset, and spend the night under stars at luxury desert camp in Zagora desert, next day, after breakfast you’ll be back by camel into the same point where you’ll meet your driver again.

Then drive back to Marrakech through the Anti Atlas mountains to Ouarzazate, where you’ll discover the hollywood city of Africa. After visiting the Taourirt Kasbah, you’ll have lunch at Ouarzazate before leaving to Marrakesh via High Atlas mountains again, this 2 days desert tour from Marrakesh to Zagora it’s an amazing experience that you’ll never forget.

• DAY 1 : Marrakech – High Atlas Mountains – Ait Ben Haddou -Ouarzazate – Agdz – Draa Valley – Zagora Overnight 

We will pick up earlier at your accommodation in Marrakesh city. We will travel to the south of High Atlas Mountains via Tizi-n-Tichka (2260 m). A spectacular road of red mountains and Berber villages.

On our arrival to Ait Benhaddou village, we will go for a walk to visit Kasbah this ancient village. An old village where a list of movies credits was made starting with the first movies “Lawrence of Arabia”, ”Jesus of Nazareth”, ”Gladiator” and the list is still going.

It is also listed on UNESCO as a site of world heritage and national culture in 1987. After lunch, we will drive to Draa Valley crossing the Middle Atlas mountains and admiring its lunar landscapes. Draa Valley is one of the old caravan roads transporting gold, ivory and slaves.

Zagora will be our final destination a huge oasis of date palms. You’ll ride a camel to the luxury desert camp, where you’ll spend an overnight at luxury tent under the stars, and after dinner around the campfire there will be some Berber music with camel guides for the atmosphere.

• DAY 2 : Zagora – Ouarzazate – High Atlas Mountains – Marrakech

We will wait to you when you come back from the Berber camping and we will drive back through Valley of Draa. A great history is in this valley that spreads along the river that has the same name Draa river more than 200 km of palm groves. It is 160 km to reach Ouarzazate. It is a very tranquil and lying back city.

Possibility to visit Kasbah of Taourirt (stronghold fort) represents the Berber architecture and represents one of the old trade cities in Morocco, known under the name of Hollywood of Morocco because it has a number of cinema studios (ECLA Studio, Altas corporation). Lunch  will be in the same city,  and drive back to Marrakech city via Tizi-n-Tichka.
