Day 1: Tangier to Chefchaouen
We will meet you at Tangier port. About a 2 drive through the Rif Mountains we will arrive to Chefchaouen the magical blue city.
Day 2: Chefchaouen the Blue City
Chaouen or Chefchaouen in Berber is one of the most beautiful towns of the Rif Mountains in the North of Morocco and is known for its striking blue houses. The city cascades down the mountainside, each new level revealing more unique buildings, colourful plants, and charming cafes.
The city was painted blue by the Jewish refugees of the 30’s. The reason for this (besides the religious one) was to cool down the heat of the summer months and also as a mosquito repellent.
In the afternoon you can take a free time to walk around the blue city on your own.
Day 3: Chefchaouen to Fes
After breakfast we travel to Fes across the Rif Mountains, Volubilis, and Meknes. In Volubilis the Archaeological Site we will visit the Roman ruins (a world heritage site), the most important Roman ruins in Morocco, then a visit to Mouly Idriss, one of the most sacred villages in the country. We continue to Meknes, the fourth imperial city of Morocco. In the afternoon, a visit to the important monuments of the city: Bab El Mansour, Lahdim square, and the museum Mouly Ismail. After the visit of Meknes we will drive directly to Fes city where you will spend the night in Riad Fes.
Day 4: Fes city tour
Today, you will explore with local guide the Morocco’s oldest city of Fes. Fes features two ancient medinas, one of which – Fes el Bali – has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site for its intricate winding architecture of alleys, souks, courtyards, as well as for featuring the world’s oldest university.
Day 5: Fes to Erg Chebbi Merzouga
After breakfast we will drive to the South to Ifrane (the Switzerland of Africa) and Azrou cedar forest with wild native monkeys to continue to the High Atlas Mountains enjoying the landscape before arriving to Morocco Sahara desert. After welcome with a glass of mint tea, we’ll take a camel trek tour to a Berber camp in the middle of the Erg Chebbi sand dunes for overnight in the desert.
Day 6: Erg Chebbi Merzouga – Toudra Gorge – Dades Valley.
After a night in Morocco desert camp, you will wake up earlier before the sunrise to enjoy the spectacular scene, then camel ride back to Merzouga aubergue (hotel) and having relaxing breakfast and shower.
We will drive to the Todra Gorge, time for short hike in the middle of Oasis & canyon.
After lunch we will continue from Todra gorge to Dades Valley with a spectacular landscape. Night in Dades Gorges hotel
Day 7: Dades Gorges – Roses Valley – Skoura – Ouarzazate – Ait Benhaddou – Telouet – Marrakech.
We will carry on to Valley of Roses, the only place in Morocco where we harvest Damascus rose of which we extract some products like rose water and rose oil best for skin treatment and anti-wrinkles. We drive through, Skoura, an old oasis of thousands of palms groves and ancient Kasbahs Berber forts. Then, we head to Ait Ben Haddou village we will go for a walk to visit this ancient village. An old village where a list of movie credits was made starting with the first movies “Lawrence of Arabia”, ”Jesus of Nazareth”, ”Gladiator” and the list is still going. It is also listed in UNESCO as a site of world heritage and national culture in 1987. We cross the High Atlas Mountains via Tizi-n-Tichka (2260 m alt). A spectacular windy road to Marrakech city.
Day 8: Marrakech Private City Tour
Half-day morning sightseeing tour of Marrakech with private local guide to explore and show you the historical city of Marrakesh.
Day 9: Transfer to airport for departure.
