Your retreat begins with a pick-up from your Marrakech hotel or riad in the morning. You’ll head out of the city and drive toward the Kik Plateau, a high terrace that frames views of Berber villages, terraced fields and the edge of the Atlas Mountains. The landscape gradually shifts from olive groves and mountain slopes to the broader open plain of the Agafay.
Early evening brings you to your luxury desert camp in the Agafay Desert. As the sun lowers, you’ll watch the stone desert glow, sip mint tea and settle into camp. Dinner is served under the wide sky, the stars begin to show, and you’ll spend the night in a tent or lodge styled with comfort in mind.
After breakfast with desert views, we depart the camp and head toward the village of Imlil in the Atlas foothills. The terrain turns greener, the air cooler, and you’ll pass through walnut trees, small streams and rural scenes. At Imlil we begin a gentle hike toward a local waterfall, the trail winds through mountain foothills, past small houses and patches of cultivated land.
At midday, we join a mountain-hosted lunch inside a local home or family-run guesthouse, sharing the table and hearing stories of life in the Atlas. After lunch, you’ll return to Imlil and then back to your desert camp for a relaxed evening: perhaps a walk as the sunset returns, dinner by firelight, and another peaceful night under the stars.
On your final day you enjoy breakfast in the camp at leisure, soaking in the early morning calm of the desert plain. We load up and drive back toward Marrakech, taking the scenic route through Asni; a village known for its weekly market and mountain views.
We’ll stop for photos, enjoy a mint tea break in a traditional setting, and appreciate the shifting landscape as fields and villages return. In the afternoon you arrive back in Marrakech, dropped off at your accommodation. You’ll leave with memories of both the desert and the mountains, an escape that’s both restful and scenic.
